Since 2019, I’ve been capturing unforgettable moments for travelers, couples, and influencers from all around the world. Whether it’s a wedding photoshoot, a Korean pre-wedding session, or a Seoul travel photography experience, my goal is to help every client feel comfortable, confident, and natural in front of the camera — even if posing feels unfamiliar.

  Behind this gorgeous, joyful photo lies one of the most exciting and nerve-wracking backstories of my career as a photographer in Seoul. It all started on Instagram, where I received two separate inquiries within a short period of time, completely independent of each other.


First, Marie reached out to me, looking to book a romantic, elegant pre-wedding style couple session around the trendy streets of Seongsu-dong and the lush greenery of Seoul Forest. Little did she know, just a few days later, her partner Gene also slid into my DMs.


Gene wasn’t looking for a standard photoshoot—he was secretly planning a top-secret surprise proposal and wanted me to capture the once-in-a-lifetime moment.

  Our first location was Seongsu-dong. To be completely honest, Seongsu isn't always my absolute favorite place to shoot. It is usually quite chaotic and constantly crowded with people. However, thanks to its unique, hip vintage vibe—created by the blend of old factories and trendy pop-up stores—it has long established itself as an absolute must-visit hotspot for both locals and international tourists visiting Korea.


Ultimately, this bustling, energetic atmosphere of Seongsu-dong served as the perfect cover story for Marie's "pre-wedding shoot." The old red brick buildings and narrow alleys provided wonderful backdrops for their casual outfits. Watching them share ice cream while strolling the streets, or simply sitting on the steps of a rundown building bursting into laughter, felt so peaceful and deeply romantic.


Looking at Marie’s bright, flawless smile through my lens, and imagining the real surprise event that was waiting to unfold just a few hours later in Seoul Forest, made it incredibly hard for me to hide my own excitement behind the camera. It was the absolute perfect decoy date session.

  I worked tirelessly to capture their genuine, natural moments amidst the chaos of these busy streets.

  This couple went above and beyond my instructions—talking, moving, running, and playing with such enthusiasm.


Because of their energy, I was able to capture natural moments that far exceeded my expectations.

  On our way from Seongsu-dong to Seoul Forest, we spotted beautiful roses blooming over a wall and simply couldn't walk past them without taking a few shots. I gave them some playful directions, and they fully embraced it, showing off their fun side without hesitation.

  Once we arrived at Seoul Forest, it was time to put our secret plan into motion.


We had pre-ordered a beautiful bouquet for Marie and stashed it safely in a subway station locker. While the couple was changing into their second outfits near our designated spot, I sneaked back to the station on a stealth mission to retrieve the flowers.


Finally, right on my signal, he dropped to one knee and proposed

  Marie also mentioned that she really wanted to capture a moment where Gene was wearing a veil too

  After catching our breath from the emotional proposal, we continued our shoot around Seoul Forest.


The couple looked incredibly relaxed as they walked hand-in-hand under the tall trees and playfully touched the water in the reflecting pool.


We also snapped some fun, candid shots by the iconic red telephone booth, where they couldn't stop joking around and laughing together.

  To wrap things up, we took some beautiful solo shots of Marie holding her bouquet and showing off that gorgeous ring. It was the perfect way to end the shoot!
