Whenever I see travelers walking through Seoul’s palaces or streets, I often think about what makes their trip to Korea truly special.


For me, it’s wearing hanbok — a cultural experience that connects you directly to Korea’s history and beauty. It’s something you can’t find anywhere else in the world.

With K-culture spreading across the world, more people are becoming curious about Korea and choosing to visit. I think it’s amazing that they can not only explore this beautiful country but also capture those moments in stunning photos — memories that last far beyond the trip itself.

I’ve had the joy of photographing many solo travelers, couples, and families in hanbok. Every session feels unique and meaningful — it’s not only a beautiful memory for them, but also a deeply rewarding experience for me as a photographer.

Most of my hanbok photoshoots are held at Gyeongbokgung Palace — the oldest and grandest palace in Seoul. From time to time, I also photograph at Changdeokgung, Changgyeonggung, or Deoksugung.


Each palace has its own distinct mood, offering a different side of Korea’s timeless beauty.

The outcome of each photoshoot is never quite the same — it changes with the weather, the light, and the mood of the guests. That’s what makes every session so unique and memorable, capturing moments that truly reflect the day and the people in it.


On top of that, the changing seasons add even more charm to each photoshoot. Spring brings cherry blossoms that frame the palaces like a dream. Summer fills the gardens with lush greenery and life. Autumn dresses the streets and courtyards in fiery reds and golden hues. And winter transforms everything with a peaceful layer of snow. No matter the season, each visit offers a fresh, unforgettable perspective of Korea.

Since most of my guests aren’t professional models, taking photos can sometimes feel a little awkward. Over the years, I’ve learned how to guide everyone so that the results look natural and effortless.


Solo travelers enjoy relaxed walks through the palaces, couples share intimate, romantic moments, and families interact in ways that truly reflect their bonds. Gradually, even the most hesitant poses become relaxed and authentic — creating memories that feel genuine and timeless.

Every now and then, guests wonder if they need to wear hanbok for the photos. The answer is always yes — but not always necessary! Sometimes we shoot in their own favorite outfits, letting them wander the palaces freely, capturing moments that feel completely natural and relaxed.
