Hi, I’m Josh from Joshfotos_, a professional photographer based in Seoul, South Korea.
Since 2019, I’ve been capturing unforgettable moments for travelers, couples, and influencers from all around the world. Whether it’s a wedding photoshoot, a Korean pre-wedding session, or a Seoul travel photography experience, my goal is to help every client feel comfortable, confident, and natural in front of the camera — even if posing feels unfamiliar.
I believe photography is not just about taking pictures, but about telling your story through beautiful, timeless images. Let’s create warm memories together in the heart of Seoul that you’ll cherish forever.
As global interest in Korean culture continues to grow, more couples are traveling to Korea to create unforgettable proposal moments against its beautiful backdrops.
Over the years, Bukchon Hanok Village has become increasingly crowded as tourist numbers have grown. As a result, Eunpyeong Hanok Village is now rapidly gaining popularity as a quieter and more scenic alternative.
Compared to Bukchon, Eunpyeong Hanok Village is much more spacious and offers many places to explore, making it an ideal location for a proposal.
For secret proposals, I carefully plan every detail in advance. I always discuss the plan with the boyfriend the day before, and only after that do we move into the actual photo session.
First, I tell the girlfriend that it will simply be a natural, casual couple photo session. This allows her to relax and enjoy the shoot without any suspicion. Then, halfway through the session, I guide the couple to a carefully chosen spot—where the proposal finally happens.
The second approach is for me to act as a complete stranger. When the couple happens to be near me, I casually approach them and ask, “Would you like me to take a photo for you?” In the past, this might have made people feel cautious or suspicious.
But these days, thanks to YouTube and Instagram, this kind of interaction has become familiar—so most couples no longer feel uneasy about it.
But no matter how carefully we plan everything, a woman’s intuition is something you can never completely ignore. From my experience, in nearly 80% of proposal shoots, the girlfriend already had some sense of what was coming.
Still, I believe she chooses to go along with the surprise—not because she didn’t know, but because she understands the effort her boyfriend put into the moment.
Eunpyeong Hanok Village is a place where you can capture beautiful photos with traditional Korean hanok houses and Bukhansan Mountain as the backdrop.
In my experience, it is truly one of the most ideal locations in Seoul for a proposal—spacious, scenic, and naturally romantic.
