The highlight of our beach session was, of course, the heart-stopping surprise proposal itself, and I am thrilled to say it was an absolute, resounding success.


This unforgettable moment wasn't just put together on the day of the shoot; it was the result of meticulous planning that began weeks in advance. The groom-to-be and I had been in close contact for a long time, carefully strategizing how to catch her completely off guard while ensuring the lighting and backdrop would be absolutely flawless.


When the cue finally came amidst the soft sea breeze of Haeundae Beach, he dropped to one knee on the golden sand, presenting a stunning diamond ring that left her beautifully speechless.


As she tearfully and joyfully said "Yes," we captured the incredible details of the moment—from the breathtaking ring in its box to the emotional second he gently slipped it onto her finger. Standing together as a newly engaged couple, pointing at the new ring with radiant, unforgettable smiles, they proved that all those weeks of secret planning were worth every single second. 


  With the beautiful rush of the surprise out of the way, we transitioned into capturing the timeless engagement portraits that every couple dreams of keeping forever.


We started by re-creating the classic proposal pose on the sand, allowing them to truly soak in the reality of the moment without all the initial nerves. From there, we focused on the stunning details that tell the story of their promise. I wanted to highlight the gorgeous diamond ring, capturing a close-up right as it sat beautifully in its velvet box, followed by an intimate shot of his hands gently guiding the ring onto her finger.


To wrap up this special series, we took a few beautifully directed shots of the couple simply gazing down at her hand together, completely mesmerized by the sparkling symbol of their new chapter, their shared smiles reflecting a deep sense of joy and excitement for the future.

  After capturing the beautiful details of the ring, I wanted to give them some space to just be together and let the reality of their new journey sink in. I guided them to take a gentle stroll right along the shoreline, letting the refreshing Haeundae tide wash over their bare feet.


Free from the initial nerves of the surprise, they walked hand in hand, sharing private words and glowing with an undeniable post-proposal happiness.

As we moved along the beach, the framing expanded to capture the stunning contrast of their intimate moment against Busan’s iconic coastal backdrop—the historic silhouette of Dongbaek Island on one side and the towering, modern skyline of the city on the other.

These candid moments of them simply walking, laughing, and looking forward to their future together beautifully rounded out a perfect day by the sea.

  To add a bit of playful energy to the session, I suggested they hold hands and take a light, slow jog along the shore.

As they started to run, the atmosphere became completely carefree. With the crashing waves right beside them and the gentle ocean breeze in their hair, their smiles turned into pure, uncontrollable laughter.


The sheer excitement of the moment beautifully highlighted the genuine connection between them, turning a simple walk into a lively celebration of their new engagement. Capturing these fleeting, dynamic moments of them running together on the sands of Haeundae truly embodied the joyful essence of their love story. 

  Alongside the dynamic couple shots, I made sure not to miss out on capturing individual solo portraits for both of them. We began with the newly engaged bride-to-be, catching a beautiful moment of her looking out toward the vast ocean, before she turned to the lens with a radiant smile, proudly showcasing her sparkling engagement ring against the coastal breeze.


Next, it was the groom's turn to step in front of the camera. Walking along the shoreline with the iconic skyscrapers of Haeundae and Dongbaek Island softening into the background, his expression was a mix of pure relief and immense joy.


Capturing these solo frames allowed their individual personalities and the sheer happiness of the day to shine through, adding a beautiful, intimate layer to their overall proposal story.

  Our session didn't simply end where the sand met the tide. To capture a different side of their love story, we decided to leave the quiet shoreline behind and head straight into the vibrant, bustling streets of downtown Haeundae.


Walking through the city crosswalks hand-in-hand, the atmosphere instantly shifted into something fun, modern, and filled with urban energy. Framed by the towering city buildings and the lively streets of Busan, they looked back at my lens with carefree smiles, fully embracing the excitement of being newly engaged in the heart of the city.


Taking these extra moments in the downtown area provided the perfect contrast to our beach portraits, wrapping up an unforgettable proposal day that beautifully combined the natural serenity of the ocean with the electric charm of Busan’s city life.

  While the beach photoshoot held a deeply romantic and emotional tone, shifting the location to downtown Haeundae allowed us to completely flip the script and dive into a much more playful, cute, and slightly mischievous vibe.


We embraced the authentic charm of everyday Busan life, using a local bus stop and vibrant street storefronts as our unique backdrops. Free from the emotional weight of the surprise proposal, the couple's goofy and lighthearted personalities truly took center stage.


From exchanging teasing glances by the bus schedule to posing with playful, funny expressions behind the glass of a city tour shelter, their laughter was infectious. Mixing these cute, spontaneous urban moments with the serene elegance of our ocean portraits resulted in a beautifully diverse gallery that perfectly celebrates every side of their dynamic love story.

  We finally brought this incredible shoot to a close by taking one last lap around the vibrant streets near Haeundae Station. Walking under the warm, glowing string lights of the bustling local market and navigating the lively downtown pedestrian paths, the couple looked completely at home and wonderfully content.


Hand-in-hand and arms linked, they soaked in the energetic rhythm of Busan’s nightlife as the perfect backdrop to their first hours as an engaged couple. Looking back at this entire session, it was a beautiful reminder of why I love what I do—combining the dramatic romance of a surprise beach proposal with the raw, playful, and electric energy of Haeundae’s city streets.


It was an unforgettable day by the sea and through the city, marking the perfect, joyful beginning to their lifelong journey together.
