Best Spots in Seoul & Busan + Photoshoot Tips with Joshfotos

Cherry blossom season in Korea is short, intense, and honestly… a little chaotic in the best way. If you’re planning a trip between late March and the second week of April, this is your window to catch Korea’s iconic pink streets, riverside tunnels, and palace backdrops.

This guide covers:

  • Best cherry blossom locations in Seoul and Busan
  • When to visit (timing matters a lot)
  • Weather and what to wear
  • How to get the best photos (without fighting crowds)
  • Why shooting with Joshfotos makes the experience easier and better

1) Cherry Blossom Timing (2026 reference + practical planning)

Cherry blossoms move from south to north. Busan blooms earlier, Seoul later.

  • Busan: expected to start around late March (forecast sources generally place Busan’s bloom around March 23–27, with peak shortly after).
  • Seoul: expected to start around early April, with peak bloom around April 8.

Real-life rule: Peak bloom is usually ~1 week, but rain/wind can shorten it—so aim for weekdays and keep your schedule flexible.

2) Weather during late March–mid April (what it feels like)

Spring in Korea is pretty, but it can still be chilly—especially in the morning and after sunset.

  • Seoul (April averages): around 17°C high / 6°C low, with moderate rainfall.
  • Busan (April feel): milder coastal spring, around 16°C high / 10°C low.

What to wear for photos:

Layers win. Think light coat/jacket + inner layer you can remove. If you want that clean “spring look,” bring a thin outer layer in neutral colors (beige/cream/gray) so it doesn’t fight the pink blossoms.

3) Best Cherry Blossom Spots in Seoul (photo-friendly picks)

A) Yeouido (Yunjung-ro / Yeouiseo Road)

Seoul’s most famous cherry blossom street—rows of cherry trees and festival vibes.

Photo tip: Go weekday morning or near sunset for softer light and fewer people.

B) Seokchon Lake

Blossoms around the lake with open views and a clean walking loop—great for couple/family photos.

Photo tip: Use the lake curve as a leading line. Walk-and-talk photos work really well here.

C) Jeongdok Public Library (Hidden gem)

A quieter, local-feeling spot with a cinematic vibe—amazing when the blossoms are at peak.

Photo tip: Perfect for “K-drama” style soft portraits.

D) Seoul Forest (less crowded, more relaxed)

If you want blossoms without the festival crowd, Seoul Forest is usually a great option (especially on weekdays). (Crowds still happen, just less intense than Yeouido.)

Seoul timing tip: If you’re visiting early April, keep 2–3 mornings flexible—peak bloom can shift a few days depending on temperature.

4) Why shoot with Joshfotos during cherry blossom season

Cherry blossom season looks dreamy… but it’s also the busiest time of year. The biggest difference isn’t your outfit—it’s timing, route, and direction.

Here’s what I do differently:

  • Crowd-smart route planning: I guide you to angles and spots where backgrounds stay clean (and recommend alternatives if a place is too packed).
  • Natural direction (no stiff posing): Walking, talking, laughing—so the photos look real, not forced.
  • Efficient sessions for travelers: If your schedule is tight, we can plan a session that fits your travel day without exhausting you.
  • Couple / family-friendly flow: For couples: romantic + playful. For families: relaxed atmosphere so kids stay happy and we catch genuine moments.
  •

If you’re traveling for cherry blossom season, I recommend booking early—peak dates fill fast, especially weekends.
