photographer based in Seoul, South Korea.
Since 2019, I’ve been capturing unforgettable moments for travelers, couples, and influencers from all around the world. Whether it’s a wedding photoshoot, a Korean pre-wedding session, or a Seoul travel photography experience, my goal is to help every client feel comfortable, confident, and natural in front of the camera — even if posing feels unfamiliar.
I believe photography is not just about taking pictures, but about telling your story through beautiful, timeless images. Let’s create warm memories together in the heart of Seoul that you’ll cherish forever.
There is a unique, quiet magic to Seoul’s royal palaces in the winter—the crisp air, the soft golden light, and the way the historic wooden architecture seems to hold a deeper warmth when shared with the ones you love.
Before the camera starts clicking, I always like to give families a moment to take in the grandeur of their surroundings. For this session, Gyeongbokgung Palace provided the perfect blend of majestic stone corridors and warm, intricately crafted wooden pavilions.
We began our walk near one of the palace’s grand wooden gates, where the soft, natural textures of the centuries-old wood beautifully complemented the family’s pastel-toned Hanboks. Seeing the mother standing proudly with her two daughters, all wrapped in their elegant winter capes, felt like looking at a modern-day royal family portrait that instantly warmed up the chilly winter morning.
As we moved further into the grounds, I caught an unscripted, beautiful moment between father and daughter; he was pointing out the fascinating details of the traditional Korean roof architecture, sharing a quiet and deeply personal connection amidst the vast palace grounds.
Right after, the mother and her eldest daughter stepped forward, sharing a joyful laugh against the backdrop of the golden wooden facade. This framing beautifully captured both the intricate craftsmanship of the palace and the towering modern Seoul skyline in the far background—creating a stunning contrast between Korea's rich past and its vibrant present.
As the session continued, the energy shifted into pure, playful joy when the two sisters took center stage in front of the palace’s historic stone fortress wall. Hand in hand, they began to twirl and look back at my lens, their laughter filling the air as the skirts of their Hanboks flared out in beautiful, sweeping motions that perfectly captured the carefree spirit of youth.
To freeze this genuine sibling bond in time, we then took a brief pause under the shade of a classic Korean pine tree for individual portraits.
Framed by the soft green pine needles and the textured stone archway in the background, the eldest daughter gave a gentle, confident smile, carrying a sense of serene grace in her blue Hanbok. Right after, her younger sister stood in the same spot, her bright eyes and sweet, radiant smile capturing the timeless charm of the morning, showing how a single location can bring out two beautifully distinct personalities.
While the sisters brought vibrant energy to the day, shifting the focus to the parents allowed us to capture a different kind of timeless elegance.
We began with a solo portrait of the father standing by the grand wooden gate, his calm and dignified presence perfectly matching the stoic beauty of the palace. Soon after, the couple walked hand in hand along the palace walls and beneath the sweeping pine branches, their gentle smiles reflecting years of shared love against the backdrop of ancient stone and colorful dancheong eaves.
To conclude this beautiful chapter, the mother stepped into the spotlight for her own solo moment. Removing her winter cape, she elegantly twirled in her lavender and silver Hanbok, her radiant smile and the graceful movement of her skirt creating a breathtaking finale that celebrated both her personal grace and the beautiful memory they created together as a family.
Seeing how much the girls were enjoying themselves, the parents playfully requested that we spend a bit more time capturing their daughters' individual charm and high spirits. We gladly stepped into a quieter corner of the courtyard, starting with the eldest daughter.
She paused by a traditional tiled wall, giving me a serene and beautifully poised smile, but the quiet moment didn't last long—as soon as she took off her winter cape, her playful side came out, and she happily twirled around, letting her blue Hanbok skirt billow in the wind. Not to be outdone, her younger sister took her turn in front of the lens.
After capturing a sweet, reflective portrait of her looking down thoughtfully, we encouraged her to let loose as well. With a burst of laughter, she spun around with pure, unfiltered joy, her dark hair flying and her lavender skirt swirling into a beautiful circle. These extra moments became some of the most precious of the day, perfectly bottling up the sisters' vibrant personalities and the true, lively essence of youth.
We wrapped up this memorable winter session with a few candid, lighthearted frames that perfectly encapsulate the warmth of this family. One of my absolute favorite shots of the day happened naturally when the parents sat together by a beautifully painted green door; just a few feet away, the two sisters peeked out from behind a wooden pillar, sharing a playful giggle as they lovingly watched their parents. It was a beautiful, unscripted reminder of the joy that ties this family together.
Before heading back, we took a moment to capture a classic, wide-angle portrait in front of a grand, sweeping pavilion, standing as a timeless keepsake of their journey to Seoul.
Finally, hand in hand, the family walked together out into the open courtyard under the historic archways, their faces lit with genuine laughter and bright smiles. Looking back at these photographs, I am reminded that a winter day in Korea’s royal palaces is never truly cold when it is filled with the laughter, love, and shared memories of a beautiful family.
